Good Afternoon Wolf Pack,
As many of you know, at the end of last year, Mrs. Mary Margaret Landers was appointed interim principal of Arroyo Charter School here in Chula Vista. Many of you may also know that during the summer, she was appointed as their permanent principal! We are incredibly proud of her and excited for the next chapter of her career!
This created a vacancy here at Wolf Canyon and we are beyond excited to welcome Mr. Sergio Navarro, as our new Associate Principal!
Mr. Sergio Navarro’s Bio:
Sergio has been in education since 2001 when he began teaching English as a foreign language at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. He then taught adult school for Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California, and then started his K-12 career as a Spanish teacher in Huntington Park and Redondo Beach, California. He later moved to the San Diego area to further his career as an administrator at Cajon Valley Union School District and is now proudly serving the Chula Vista community. Growing up as a bilingual and bicultural learner, Sergio understands first-hand the needs of our English language learners and migrant communities. Sergio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership as well as postgraduate coursework in Spanish from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain.
Sergio has a passion for education and is a strong believer in restorative practices that seek to acknowledge the student, considering their own unique stories, talents, and challenges lived, and utilizing this knowledge to foment a culture of rigor through learner experiences so students can experience a world-class education.
He is excited to meet all of the families here at Wolf Canyon, and can’t wait to kick-off the year in only seven days!
Respectfully,
Wolf Canyon
