Month of Military Child at Wolf Canyon Elementary

Many of you know that each year, April is set aside as a military child appreciation month, officially known as the Month of the Military Child.

Children from military families deal with additional burdens, separation issues, family deployments, frequent moves, and even their parents’ injuries as part of the life they were born into or entered with their families.

At Wolf Canyon, we know that it is important that we are appreciative of our families who have served, and are currently serving, all year, but April happens to be the month where we slow down and intentionally make it a point to share our thanks for the dedication and sacrifice of each family.

Because purple is a color used to represent all military services, the theme “Purple Up” is used over the course of the month. That’s why every Friday for the month of April will be “Purple Up Friday!” to show our support to all of our amazing military kids.

Stay tuned for more interesting facts about our military kids and some upcoming events!
