Just a reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences begin tomorrow, Thursday, September 12th and continue through Friday, September 20th.
All 1st-6th grade students will be dismissed at 1:45 p.m. during the conference period. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. and Transitional Kindergarten students will dismiss at 1:25 p.m. and
Please make appropriate transportation and child care arrangements. We look forward to seeing you all at parent teacher conferences soon!

We are now in week 8 of 9 in Quarter 1. Parent-teacher Conferences begin this week on Thursday. Conferences are a great time to learn about how your child is progressing in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and all other topics at school. Please note, Thursday, September 12 is a minimum day.
Wolf Canyon experienced the passing of our beloved first grade teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Diaz, on Friday. For families and staff who are interested and able to support the Diaz Family, please see ways below:

Thank you for a fantastic first quarter! As we prepare to wrap things up, please note that the last day for Quarter 1 Clubs will be Wed., September 11th.
The following CLUBS WILL BE CANCELED NEXT WEEK.

Wolf Canyon LEAD
Wolf Canyon is looking for its 2024-25 Student Council Representatives!
Timeline:
Due to extreme heat advisory, we will be transforming our Fun Run into a Glow Dance Remix!! 
Classes will be dancing along to a video made by Apex Team Member, Rockstar Rick, and completing dance moves to earn credit for laps.
As the classes are dancing, the Apex Team will make a special appearance to each class and dancing along with them!
We understand that many parents looked forward to volunteering and spectating this event but due to the changes and limited classroom space, we ask that parents refrain from coming to the school/classrooms. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but for the safety of the students and staff, this is our plan.
FINAL APEX CHALLENGE:
The top 5 students who raise the MOST money by Friday morning, will get to PIE the ENTIRE Apex team and YOUR PRINCIPAL during Friday Assembly!!

This week, we are expecting warm weather in the mid to high 80s. Encourage your children to stay hydrated. You can send your children to school with sunglasses and/or sun block as needed. In order to avoid heat illnesses, our staff will encourage students drink plenty of fluids, wear sunblock as needed, stay in air-conditioned rooms as possible (e.g. indoor PE) and have access to shade during peak heat hours.

Dear CVESD Families –
Registration for the Fall LEAD Academy Program opens this Friday, August 23, 2024, at 6 p.m. LEAD Academy is a free program funded through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program and is open to CVESD students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. LEAD Academy offers various academic and fun enrichment activities, field trips, and meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks).
Registration priority will be given to students identified as “unduplicated” (foster youth, unsheltered, students living in motels/hotels, temporarily doubled up, students in temporary shelters, English language learners, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students). After the highest priority students are registered, additional students will be registered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
