Dear CVESD Families –
Registration for the Fall LEAD Academy Program opens this Friday, August 23, 2024, at 6 p.m. LEAD Academy is a free program funded through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program and is open to CVESD students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. LEAD Academy offers various academic and fun enrichment activities, field trips, and meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks).
Registration priority will be given to students identified as “unduplicated” (foster youth, unsheltered, students living in motels/hotels, temporarily doubled up, students in temporary shelters, English language learners, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students). After the highest priority students are registered, additional students will be registered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

I understand that there have been inquiries about our waitlist, and I want to address this to provide clarity to all interested families. Due to the high level of interest in our program, every club will initially be placed on a waitlist by default. I encourage you to complete the registration process promptly to secure your spot in the program.
This is a reminder of our delivery policy at Wolf Canyon. Office personnel is not responsible for delivering lunches, homework, or other items to students during the school day. If you need to deliver something to your child during the school day, you or your designee will need to sign in as a visitor in the school office and take these items to your child during his/her recess or lunchtime only. Also, please make sure to coordinate how your child gets home after school prior to arriving to school. For everyone’s safety, the office will not be responsible for sending messages to students about after school pick up arrangements.

Safety Notice: Traffic Drop-Off and Dismissal
Student safety is everyone’s number one priority. During drop-off and pick-up, please support keep our all students, families, and staff safe by:
1. Please pick up and drop off your children only in the loading zones (not in the red zone).
2. Park only in designated areas.
3. Do not leave vehicle unattended on unmarked spaces or loading zone.
4. Drive slowly and stop for pedestrians.
5. Use crosswalks. Do not cross through the vehicle drop-off and pick up zone.
6. Follow directions from staff, Safety Patrol team, and on posted signs.

School counseling support is provided to all our students. If you would like counseling for your student this 2024-2025 school year, please fill out the form below and sign the consent form (see attached). These forms need to be filled out and signed yearly. You may email the signed form to jellyanne.biocarles@cvesd.org or turn them in the school office. Contact Ms. Jelly if you have any questions or concerns.

Back 2 School Night:
We look forward to seeing everyone at Back 2 School Night this week on Wednesday, August 14. The event starts at 5:30pm. There will two 30-minute sessions at 5:30pm, and then at 6:05pm. This is a great opportunity to learn important information about what your child will learn this school year. We encourage all families to attend!
