A.G.E. – Parent Preview Nights

Good Afternoon 4th – 6th Grade Families,

Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grade classes will be teaching Adolescent Growth Education (A.G.E.)
during the upcoming third or fourth quarter.

The purpose of this program is to provide students with information about:
Fourth Grade: bullying, the social, emotional, and physical changes of puberty, and menstruation.
Fifth Grade: developing self-esteem, being clear with friends through decision-making, boundaries
(harassment and abuse), and changes that occur during puberty.
Sixth Grade: changes in adolescent bodies which occur during puberty, the reproductive systems, and
boundaries.

The knowledge acquired from A.G.E. will allow children to receive age-appropriate information regarding adolescence while they develop the confidence and self-respect necessary to choose a healthy lifestyle.

While your child learns A.G.E., you are encouraged to set aside a special time to discuss these important
topics with your child at home.

Parents/Caregivers will be invited to preview the A.G.E. curriculum and videos at District-hosted Parent
Preview Nights. Parent Preview Nights will be held online on the following dates:

Fourth Grade: Tuesday, January 30th from 6:00 -7:30 pm
Fifth Grade: Wednesday, January 31st from 6:00-7:30 pm
Sixth Grade: Thursday, February 1st from 6:00-7:30 pm

Links to the meetings will be available on the CVESD website: www.cvesd.org

Rainy Day Dismissal!

Happy Monday!  We wanted to pass along this reminder for rainy day dismissal.

TK & Kindergarten:  Bus riders will be walked down to the lunch area and wait either at the tables or in the MPR depending on the conditions. All other transitional kindergartners and kindergartners will be picked up directly from their classrooms. We will open the Kinder gate at approximately 2:50 to allow parents to head toward their child’s classroom.

First through Sixth:  Bus riders will be walked down, or dismissed to the lunch area, and wait either at the tables or in the MPR depending on the conditions. Students that walk home, or that are picked up by car, will be dismissed from their classroom at 3:15. If you are picking up your child in person we will open the gates between 3:10 and 3:15 for you to head to their classroom. At 3:25, all students not picked up will be brought to the front office.

Thank you,

Wolf Canyon Team

PTA Meeting: Tuesday, January 16 @ 6:00pm

Hello Timberwolf Families and Staff,

Please attend the WCEPTA Association Meeting. If you missed our previous note, it is critical we meet quorum and appoint a nominating committee for elections for the 2024/2025 school year. Please attend and if you would like to serve on the nominating committee please volunteer at the meeting. The committee will meet no more than 3 times and will select the nominees. Elections will be held at our March meeting for the WCEPTA Executive Board 2024/2025 school year. In order to be a California PTA we are required at minimum to have a President, Treasurer and Secretary. We currently will require new nominations at minimum for Treasurer and Secretary. We are asking that some parents please step up to fill the Treasurer and Secretary positions or other roles. To be clear, if we do NOT have a Treasurer or Secretary we do not have a PTA. The current people in these positions cannot return for another year. Additionally, the current board are all 4th grade parents so we need parents to carry the torch as we phase out. If for some reason you think you’re too new at the school, don’t worry we’re here to support you and help you learn the roles of PTA. Wolf Canyon has a great program in our PTA that supports our students and teachers from Holiday Grams to Field Trips Grants to Events for the students and grants for our teachers, it would be unfortunate to be disband.

Please reach out to PTA at wolfcanyonpta@gmail.com if you are interested or have questions. We understand this is extra work for a group of already hard working busy parents but if we work together we can keep this PTA going.

Thanks

WCEPTA Executive Board

Hello Wolf Canyon Families,

There will be no school on Monday, January 15, 2024, in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

What is Dr Martin Luther King Jr. known for?

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is known for his contributions to the American civil rights movement in the 1960s. His most famous work is his “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered in 1963, in which he spoke of his dream of a United States that is void of segregation and racism.

Dr. King led a nonviolent movement in the late 1950s and ’60s to achieve legal equality for African-Americans in the United States.
