Good evening, Wolf Canyon Families.

The Wolf Canyon Team is excited to implement our first week of distance learning starting tomorrow, Monday, April 13.  We’ll strive to provide your child with a quality education in a nurturing, virtual classroom environment during this last quarter of the school year.

Since distance learning is new for both teachers and students, I respectfully ask that you are patient with our instructional team.  Rest assured, we’ll work hard to support you and your child through this new model of learning.

We understand that each Wolf Canyon family has a different dynamic; therefore, our goal is to be as flexible as possible, while also engaging your child academically to keep learning alive and well while at home.

As we begin this journey together, I encourage you to consider the following:

1. Create structures and routines to engage your child in distance learning.
   1. Locate a quiet location for learning & utilize this space each day.
   2. Determine the best timeframe for your child to work uninterrupted.
2. Communicate successes & struggles with your child’s teacher.

PTA Update

All scheduled PTA fundraisers/programs have been canceled until further notice.

Mixed bag/Boon Supply orders have been shipped and PTA will contact you once they arrive and the best and safest way to get them to you.

The Chula Vista Elementary School District will extend its “grab-and-go” meal service through the upcoming two-week Spring Break. There will be only ONE DAY for meal distribution each week of break, with a box for each student that will contain five days’ worth of meals. The hours are:

• 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24
• 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31

Students who are receiving the meals must be physically present. Meals are served cold and need to be reheated at home. The locations closet to Wolf Canyon are:

Good morning, Wolf Canyon Timberwolves!

Courtesy reminder:

Currently all CVESD schools are closed for the next three weeks. We will remain in close contact with the San Diego County Office of Education and local public health officials throughout the duration of this closure and will provide updates to families as appropriate.

In the meantime, teachers have been directed to continue parent conferences this week via telecommunication.  If you did not have a parent conference last week, you will be hearing from your child’s teacher soon to secure a respective day & time for your child’s phone conference this week.

Finally, CVESD Child Nutrition staff will be on our site each day from March 16- 20 to distribute packaged food items in a paper bag for students (ages 1- 18 years old) who are with an adult.  Due to school closures, there will be no eating areas open on campus.  Therefore, this will be grab-a-bag-and-go service.  Breakfast will be distributed from 8:00- 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be distributed from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
