We are now in week 1 of 9 of Q1. 

This week, we are very excited to welcome back all our Timberwolf students, families, and staff!  Let’s kick off the school year demonstrating the traditional Wolf Canyon Excellence!

• The front gates will open at 3:30pm. Classroom assignments will be posted on the wall ball courts. Teachers will be available for a meet and greet at tables near the playground.

4p-5p: TK Orientation (Meet in TK classrooms @ 4p)

• Front gates will open at 3:30pm. TK classroom assignments will be posted on the wall ball courts. TK parents will then report to TK classrooms at 4p for TK Orientation.

4p-5p: Kinder Orientation (Meet in MPR @ 4p)

Front gates will open at 3:30pm. Kindergarten classroom assignments will be posted on the wall ball courts. Kindergarten parents will then report to the MPR  at 4p for Kindergarten Orientation.

Safety Notice: Traffic on the First Weeks of School

When school begins, there is more traffic than normal, and parking can be a challenge. School begins at 8:45a. We encourage you to plan accordingly. Student safety is everyone’s number one priority. During drop-off and pick-up, please support keep our all students, families, and staff safe by:

1.  Please pick up and drop off your children only in the loading zones (not in the red zone).  

2.  Park only in designated areas. Do not park behind parked vehicles. 

3.  Do not leave vehicle unattended on unmarked spaces, red zones, or on the loading zone.

4.  Drive slowly and stop for pedestrians. 

5.  Use crosswalks. Do not cross through the vehicle drop-off and pick up zone. 

6.  Follow directions from staff, Safety Patrol team, and on posted signs.

Below is some key information related to beginning-of-year dates and events.

Join the Wolf Canyon Co-Ed Flag Football Team! 🏈

We’re excited to announce that Flag Football is coming to Wolf Canyon! This brand-new district sport is open to all 4th–6th grade students who are ready to have fun, learn new skills, and show their school spirit on the field.

Our co-ed flag football team will represent Wolf Canyon in games against other Chula Vista schools, so this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something special and make new friends along the way. Whether you’ve played before or want to try something new, everyone is welcome to come out and give it a shot!

📅 Assessments will take place the second week of September ~ Come show us your hustle, teamwork, and positive attitude. Coaches will be looking for students who are excited to learn and ready to demonstrate great sportsmanship.

• All 4th, 5th, and 6th graders

✅ Where will we play?

• Against other schools right here in Chula Vista

We’ll notify you by July 25 if your child has been accepted into their club or if they will remain on the waitlist. Hello Wolf Canyon Families,

Please read this entire message- especially the information pertaining to dismissal on June 6.

This Friday, January 6, we are expecting heavy traffic in the morning during arrival and dismissal. We encourage all families plan accordingly, and if you live nearby, walk or ride bicycles to school if possible. There is also parking in the residential areas near campus, only a short walk from campus.

Please remember, SAFETY IS THE #1 PRIORITY– drive safely and follow all traffic rules.

Morning Arrival on June 6:

Grade 6 promotion is at 9 am and we are expecting many visitors. Please park only in designated spaces. 

Dismissal on June 6:

Olympian High School is having their graduation ceremony at 3:00pm and will open their parking lot at 1:40pm.  That means you can expect heavy traffic and limited parking in the areas near and around Wolf Canyon. 

IMPORTANT: To enter the Wolf Canyon parking lot between 12pm-2pm you will need a green parking placard. One green parking placard is being sent home with each student on June 5. Please place the green parking placard on your dashboard when entering the parking lot.  There will be a staff member monitoring the entrance.

6/6: Traffic on Last Day of School

June 6 is the final day of school. Due to grade 6 promotion and other events on campus, there will be increased traffic and parking will be a challenge. We encourage you to walk to school if you line nearby or carpool if possible. We will also not have a morning blacktop assembly due to grade 6 promotion.

LEAD Families,

As we wrap up another incredible school year, we want to remind you Friday, May 30th, is the final day for all LEAD morning and afternoon clubs.

Thank you for being such an important part of another successful year of fun, learning, and growth! We’ve truly enjoyed watching our students explore their interests and build lasting friendships through our club programs.

We’re already looking ahead with excitement to the 2025–2026 school year, where we’ll be offering new and exciting clubs for our students to enjoy! Registration for next school year’s clubs will open on July 9th, so be sure to mark your calendars.
