Wolf Canyon – Home of the Timberwolves

Dear Wolf Canyon Families,

As we continue to prioritize the safety of students and staff, Wolf Canyon, and all CVESD schools, will transition to a closed campus beginning on Thursday , January 15, 2026. A closed campus means that parents/guardians will not be permitted on campus unless they have signed in at the front office. This includes events before, during, and after school. 

An overview of the arrival and dismissal procedures that will take effect on January 15, 2026, will be sent out before we leave for December break. 

If interested, we will hold a community forum for families to hear the information and ask question on Tuesday, December 16,  2025, at 9:00am. The forum will take place in the Wolf Canyon MPR. Please arrive early and register in the front office.

This Wednesday, December 3, and Friday, December 5 there will be more traffic than usual at Wolf Canyon in the morning due to a scheduled CVESD training at Wolf Canyon at 8am. We encourage you to plan accordingly for increased traffic and limited parking.  Families who live nearby are encouraged to walk to school.

Safety is always the number one priority. Please follow all traffic rules and park only in designated spaces.

Safety Notice: Traffic during Arrival & Dismissal

During arrival and dismissal parking and traffic is busier than usual. School begins at 8:45a. We encourage you to plan accordingly. Student safety is everyone’s number one priority. During drop-off and pick-up, please support keep our all students, families, and staff safe by:

1.  Please pick up and drop off your children only in the loading zones (not in the red zone).  

2.  Park only in designated areas. Do not park behind parked vehicles. 

3.  Do not leave vehicle unattended on unmarked spaces, red zones, or on the loading zone.

4.  Drive slowly and stop for pedestrians. 

5.  Use crosswalks. Do not cross through the vehicle drop-off and pick up zone. 

6.  Follow directions from staff, Safety Patrol team, and on posted signs.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and partnership in ensuring a safe and orderly drop-off and dismissal.

Please support your child’s success by making sure they arrive on time to school.

• Set alarm clocks
• Prepare backpack and clothes the night before
• Establish a morning routine
• Discuss the importance of arriving on time with your child
• Traffic is much lighter before 8:30am. Between 8:30am-8:45am, there is a lot of traffic. Save time by arriving before 8:30am!

Please join us this Monday morning in the MPR for this month’s ELAC and Coffee with the Principal Meeting. At this meeting, we share our school’s plan for student achievement and safety initiatives. We’ll also open up a round table to discuss topics of interest! Doughnuts and coffee will be available. We hope you can join us!
