Nomination Form and Election Information

Wolf Canyon School Site Council 2019-20

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC) is comprised of 5 elected parent/community representatives and 5 elected staff representatives.  The role of the SSC is to develop, approve and monitor the Single Plan for Student Achievement, and the budget.  Regular meetings shall take place on Mondays beginning at 3:30pm. All parents and staff are welcome to attend.

For the 2019-20 school year, there are 3 vacancies (3 top candidates will have a council seat, 2 runner-ups will be alternates). Council Seats serve 2 years.

If you are interested in serving on School Site Council and would like your name to be placed on the SSC Election Ballot, please click the link below and complete the form.  The deadline to submit your information is Friday, April 19th.   Elections will take place the week of April 22nd.

Welcome Back

We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break! We would like to welcome everyone back to our fourth and final quarter of the 2018-2019 School Year. As you know, school resumes on Monday, April 8th.  We will have a modified day with 1st through 6th grade students attending from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and Kindergarten students attending from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  We know this quarter will be a busy and exciting quarter at Wolf Canyon! A huge thank you to everyone that attended the Spring Parent Teacher Conferences before the break! We value our partnership with our parents!

Good News Club will NOT meet this Wednesday, April 10, but club meetings will resume the following week on Wednesday, April 17th.  Permission slips are available in the front office for any new students who would like to participate for the first time during 4th quarter.

• Our Mixed Bags Fundraiser has been extended to Friday, March 15th!
• The PTA Association Meeting/Election will be held on March 19th at 6:30 here at Wolf Canyon.

Wolf Canyon Families:

We are excited to celebrate “Read Across America Week” (3/1 – 3/8) with a fun reading challenge called “Reach for the Stars!” sponsored by Usborne Books & More Educational Services & the Wolf Canyon Library! This challenge celebrates a love of literacy & rewards our students for reading with incentives & free books! It is super easy to participate in the challenge:

• Students will commit to reading (or being read to) at least 20 minutes a day for one week
  (3/1-3/8). A reading log to keep track of minutes read, along with fun extra challenges is included with this letter.
• Ask family, friends, neighbors, etc. to join our challenge by supporting your student with pledges for reading.  With just a minimum $5 pledge, your student will earn at least one free book to take home & will help our school & library earn new books as well!
• Turn in the completed reading logs & money collected by Friday, March 8th to your classroom teacher.
• Students will receive their rewards from Mrs. Moffett in the Library during their scheduled library time after all forms & money have been submitted.
• Extra forms are available in the library if anyone needs them.

We appreciate your support of your children during this special week by encouraging them to complete their reading (or reading to them), and/or by helping them to collect their pledges!
