The Book Fair opens Monday afternoon, September 10th through Thursday, September 20th. This is a great way to support your child’s reading and support the school. Volunteers are needed. In addition, all volunteers will earn Scholastic Dollars for their child’s teacher. It’s a great way to support your child’s classroom library. Remember to stop by before or after school each day or before or after your Parent/Teacher conference.
Support the 4th grade fundraiser and come out to the Otay Ranch Mall Chili’s for dinner on Tuesday, September 11 between 3:00pm and 10:00pm. Don’t forget to bring the flyer and give it to the waiter/waitress when you pay the bill.
PTA needs volunteers for Red Ribbon Week and the Masquerade Festival is coming up in the month of October. If you are interested in volunteering for either of these events contact the school office at 619-482-8877. The next PTA General Meeting is September 18 at 7:00pm.
WANTED: Box Tops for Education. Many food items that come in boxes have a “Box Tops for Education” bar coded label. Cut this out, send it school and we can exchange these labels for technology tools, sports equipment, art supplies and much more. This is a very easy way to support the school especially during these tough financial times. Send the Box Tops in to your child’s teacher or the school office. The class that turns in the most Box Tops for Education by October 8 will receive a Special Prize!
Parent/Teacher conferences begin this Thursday, September 13 – 21. We will be on the MINIMUM DAYS schedule beginning this Thursday which means kindergarten students will be dismissed at 1:30pm and all other students will be dismissed at 1:45pm. Please make sure whoever is picking up your child during these days is aware of the earlier dismissal times.
Friday, September 14 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm is our annual Family Drive in Movie Night. All children are encouraged to make cars out of cardboard boxes and sit in those cars while watching a movie drive-in movie style.

There is a Knott’s Soak City Safety Patrol Fundraiser for ALL STUDENTS, FAMILIES, TEACHERS and FRIENDS. Ticket sales will be Tuesday, September 4-14. The cost is $11 for the entrance ticket and $10 for the all you can eat buffet. The Chula Vista Police Dept is only accepting CASH. Bring an envelope labeled with your name, teacher and room number. Do NOT bring cash to the office. Safety Patrol members will pick up the envelopes from your homeroom teacher. Tickets will arrive on the week of September 17th.
