There is NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2013 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. School resumes on Tuesday, January 22.
Cells 4 Cures is a community service project our K-Kids is sponsoring to help the environment and support lifesaving cancer research. Simply bring in old or unused cell phones and Cells 4 Cures will recycle these phones, assess the value of the phones and send funds to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

On Tuesday, January 22 at 6:00pm there will be a parent forum in the Wolf Canyon Auditorium for all families zoned to attend Camarena Elementary School. The newly appointed principal Dr. Dan Winters will lead the forum and address any questions you may have regarding the new school. Remember to mark your calendars to attend the Internet Safety Information Meeting next Tuesday, January 29 at 6:30 pm in our school auditorium. Childcare will be provided. And the presentation will also be offered in Spanish.

Our Science and Technology Night for grades K-2 will be on Thursday, January 31 and Friday, February 1 for students in grades 3-6 both beginning at 6:30 pm. Experiments will be held in the classrooms this year while student science projects will be displayed in the auditorium.

Math Common Core Standards parents training is being provided at the Chula Vista Elementary School District on Monday, January 28 at 9:00 am and again on Wednesday, January 30 at 6:00pm. Free TB testing is available at Discovery Charter School on January 29 and 31. All volunteers must have a current TB clearance on file at all CVESD schools.

February 1st has been designated by our Board of Education as Wear Red Day in recognition of the American Heart Association.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the Wolf Canyon Chalk Walk Festival. The event will take place on Thursday, February 21st. If you are interested please let your child’s teacher know or call the office and give them your contact information.

Join the Wolf Canyon Birthday Book Club! Commemorate your child’s birthday by donating $10 or more for the purchase of a hardback book for the Wolf Canyon Library! You can give the gift of reading to your child and all our students by joining our Birthday Book Club. Your $10 donation allows your child to pick a hardcover book to be placed into our library. Your child will have his/her name placed into the front cover of the book and be the first Wolf Canyon Timberwolf to check it out! The Birthday Book Club member will be announced at an Awards Assembly, have his/her picture taken and displayed in the library for all of 2013!

PTA is seeking Parents who are interested in serving on the PTA Board for the next school year (2013-2014). PTA is a great way to support your child and the school. Please contact the school office for more details.

CHANGE THE DATE – THE SCHOOL DANCE WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8 FROM 6:00 – 8:00PM. This is a change from Thursday, February 13.
