This week we celebrate Red Ribbon Week in honor of Enrique Camarena a law enforcement official who lost his life in the fight against drugs in 1985. Though his life is over his cause has gained momentum over the years as schools take on his fight towards the creation of a DRUG FREE AMERICA and making healthy life-style choices.
1. Monday is Crazy Sock Day – Wear crazy socks and “Sock it to Drugs”
2. Tuesday is Super Hero Day – Dress like a Super Hero (no masks please) and send the message “We have the Power to be Drug Free”
3. Wednesday is Crazy Hair Day – “Don’t Let Drugs Make You Crazy”
4. Thursday wear your favorite sports apparel and “Team up and Tackle Drugs and Alcohol”
5. Friday wear RED to show your support of Red Ribbon Week

Tuesday, October 22 our Student Council will be selling Newspapers for $1.00 to support Children’s Hospital. Kids News Day is a countywide fundraising campaign and newspapers will be available for sale beginning at 7:30am until all papers are sold.

Thursday, October 24 is the last day to donate Teddy Bears (new only) for Children’s Hospital. This project is sponsored by the Wolf Canyon Safety Patrol students.

On Friday, October 25 our annual Law Enforcement Day is back! Beginning at 9:00 am students will have the opportunity to learn about the many kinds of law enforcement agencies that fight to protect our community from the abuse of drugs and alcohol. Please take time to thank your local law enforcement officials.

Masquerade Festival is this Saturday, October 26 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Come dressed in your Halloween costumes – and enjoy many fun activities including bouncy houses, games, food vendors, photo booth and more! Admission is $15.00 including bouncy houses or $5 “no-jump” admission. Children under 2 and parents are free. Pre-sale ticket special – FREE bounce pass to Mission Valley Inflatable World if you pre-purchase your tickets Monday – Friday this week before or after school at the PTA table. Candy donations are needed for the event and can be brought to your child’s classroom. PTA will collect all candy donations and the class with the most donations will receive a prize from PTA!

Smencils will be for sale before and after school each Tuesday – $2 each or 3 for $5.

Please consider signing up for the Target Red card, set our school as the donating entity and our school receives monthly checks that help offset the cost of many school supplies and materials. So far this school year we have received about $700. Remember to vote for our school on the Target Facebook page – GIVE with TARGET and our school could earn thousands of dollars.

Spirit wear is available for purchase in room 401. Get your Wolf Canyon sweatshirts while supplies last.
