WEEKLY UPDATE: Week of September 7th

The Wolf Canyon staff and I loved having our Timberwolves back with us for Distance Learning. We are so proud of the grit and grace students, teachers, and parents showcased as we adjusted to a new teaching and learning environment. It sure is great to be a Timerwolf!!

School Meal Program

Please take a few minutes to complete the free and reduced lunch application; it helps our school receive funding and your child receive free or reduced price lunch. If you cannot complete the form online, you can pick one up in front of the main office.

All Timberwolves will be able to receive meals for the week each Thursday at Wolf Canyon between the hours of 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. Students will receive five breakfast and lunch meals.

Beginning-of-the-Year Assessments

Over the next several weeks, teachers will be administering assessments in the areas of reading and mathematics to identify beginning levels for students in order to address their needs and guide instruction and learning.  The assessment schedule is as follows:

Assessment  Grade Level Testing Window
iReady (Math)   Grades K – 6 Kindergarten:  October 5 –October 30
Grades 1-6:  September 8 – October 2

Achieve3000LevelSet (Reading) Grades 2 – 6 September 2 –October 2

In this Distance Learning model, we will need your support to accomplish this task. If you haven’t done so already, please take a few minutes to watch the video linked below that explains the support we will need from our parents throughout this process.

Technology

If you borrowed a laptop from Wolf Canyon and are experiencing technical difficulties that have yet to be resolved, please bring the laptop and charger to the Wolf Canyon main office between the hours of 9:00-3:00pm to exchange your laptop. Please understand that we have a limited supply of laptops and there is a possibility that we will run out of devices.

If you are having trouble with technology, please call the parent help line at (619) 409-6638. When you leave a message, please be sure you leave a phone number that can reach you at.
