Community Messenger: Week of Aug. 5-9, 2024

Hello Timberwolves,

We hope everyone enjoyed the warm weather this weekend! We are now in week 3 of 9 in quarter 1. We are to a great start with lots of momentum! Let’s continue demonstrating Timberwolf excellence!

The Timberwolf Way

Wolf Canyon strives for excellence in all areas, including in how we show respect, responsibility, and respect. At our back 2 school assemblies, we shared wit students the Timberwolf Way- Be Safe., Be Respectful, Be Responsible. Our teachers are also taking time to review behavior expectations. See attached Timberwolf Way Behavior Expectations here:

This school year, Wolf Canyon, will employ a tiered Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team to support and promote positive school wide behavior. Our team will actively identify trends and action plan according to site needs. As part of this approach, minor behavioral incidents will handled by teachers and staff, while major incidents will be addressed by administration. SWIS Behavior referrals will be used to communicate incidents with families as necessary. Administration will focus support when students receive a major referral, or after a student receives 5 minor behavior incident referrals. Follow up action will vary based on incident type, severity, number of incidents and may include student conference, loss of privilege, parent contact, restorative conference, community service, an/ or other. Referrals will be sent to families for minor incidents as needed, and regularly for major incidents. Families are asked to review the incident with their child, sign the referral, and then return to school the following day. Trends in behavior referral information will allow our PBIS and Safety Teams to allocate resources where needed to support the safety and social-emotional wellness of Wolf Canyon students.

School Policy – Deliveries & Messages!

This is a reminder of our delivery policy at Wolf Canyon. Office personnel is not responsible for delivering lunches, homework, or other items to students during the school day. If you need to deliver something to your child during the school day, you or your designee will need to sign in as a visitor in the school office and take these items to your child during his/her recess or lunchtime only. Also, please make sure to coordinate how your child gets home after school prior to arriving to school. For everyone’s safety, the office will not be responsible for sending messages to students about after school pick up arrangements.

If you have any questions please contact Mr. Pollack, the school principal
