Wolf Canyon – Home of the Timberwolves

The school site council is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees,  that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The members of the site council are generally elected by their peers. For example, parents elect the parent representatives and teachers elect teachers.

This year, Wolf Canyon is looking for two new parent members of the team.  If you are interested, please fill out the following form by this Thursday.  We will then hold elections over the weekend, and hold our first meeting the first week of September.

Because of this year’s COVID attendance protocol, we are experiencing a higher-than-normal absence rate and we desperately need your help.  Each time a student is absent from school we are required to go into the system and code it appropriately.  We can only do that if that information has been communicated to us by the family.  

How can you help?  If your child is going to be absent, we ask that you communicate that information with us.  A phone call always works, but often takes additional time to sort out.  To expedite the process please email the information listed below to WolfCanyonSchool@cvesd.org

Did you know that even during Distance Learning over the past year, every single Timberwolf got to enjoy art class with Mrs. Adamos? As we have returned to in-person learning, we are no longer limited to toilet paper rolls, crayons & scratch paper, but our students will get to explore many different mediums in the art room & create amazing projects!

When you pick up your pizza dinner at Blaze Pizza this Wednesday & Thursday, those delicious slices will help our Art department be able to purchase unique tools that will allow our Timberwolves to experience art in different ways & tap into their creativity! Our fabulous, student-led, Safety Patrol is in the final stage of training. We are excited that you will see them outside soon, assisting with traffic.

Below is a training video that outlines the expectations for our Students, and is also a helpful for parents as it will familiarize them with what our students will be doing.

Also, as a friendly reminder here are some helpful tips for the parking lot.

Drop off and arrival can feel hectic.  There are nearly 1000 students that attend Wolf Canyon, and our parking lot infrastructure was not designed to support that number.  Because of this, it is even more important to remember the following guidelines.  

 DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAUTIOUSLY

 OBSERVE SIGNS, CONES, AND STUDENTS

 THANK YOU FOR NOT TEXTING OR TALKING ON CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING

 REMEMBER TO USE THE CROSSWALKS AT ALL TIMES

 THANK YOU FOR NOT DOUBLE PARKING

 REMEMBER TO PULL ALL THE WAY FORWARD IF YOU ARE IN THE DROP-OFF LANE

 THE PARKING LOT IS NOT A PICKUP AND DROP OFF AREA

 THANK YOU FOR NOT MOTIONING FOR YOUR CHILD TO WALK BETWEEN CARS OR DISREGARDING THE SAFETY PATROL OFFICERS

 THANK YOU FOR BEING RESPECTFUL AND POLITE

 BIKES, SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS, HOVERBOARDS, ETC. MUST REMAIN LOCKED ON THE BIKE RACK OR KEPT IN A SAFE PLACE IN THE CLASSROOM TO BE DETERMINED BY THE TEACHER. STUDENTS MUST WALK THESE ITEMS ON CAMPUS DURING ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL

Our first PTA Family Dinner Night is coming up soon!  Plan for a delicious pizza night on Wednesday (8/18) and/or Thursday (8/19) when you pick up dinner at Blaze Pizza!
We are excited to be kicking off the year by supporting our amazing VAPA programs that have provided wonderful creative outlets for our Timberwolves through art & music.

Registration has been added to the PTA Meeting for the 2021/2022 school year. This will help the board to check quorum and make sign in part of entering the meeting. Minutes will be reviewed in the meeting from the last PTA meeting as stated in the agenda. If you should want a copy prior to the meeting please email wolfcanyonpta@gmail.com and the minutes can be sent to any current PTA member. The minutes will not be sent via Totem at this time.
