The Hanover Survey is now going on throughout our school district. This is a very important survey for parents to complete to let us know how we can better serve you and your children. If you did not get the link sent via your email address you can stop by the school during regular office hours between 8:00am and 4:00pm and take the survey in our computer lab.
Yearbooks presales are still going on. Yearbooks are $35.00 through February only. Any available books ordered after February 28 will be sold for $45.00. Don’t delay!
K-Kids, our community service club, is asking everyone to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by collecting spare change during the month of February. At the end of the month we ask that all coins/money be counted at home, placed in a ziplock bag with your child’s name, the amount and drop it off with the teacher or in the school office. For every $10.00 donation or more your child’s name will be printed on a paper penny that will be posted in the auditorium as a way to show his/her support for a great cause. The class that brings in the most money will earn a Pasta Party from the Olive Garden. All donations will be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help fight these diseases. Donate on line at http://sdhi.sy.llsevent.org/WolfCanyonElementarySchool.
A special shout out to our wonderful PTA for a great Family Dance event! It was a lot of fun!
Registration, Residency Verification and Zone Transfers can be very confusing. Here are the facts. When you are new to the Chula Vista Elementary School District or have an incoming kindergarten child you need to register your child. Once your child has been registered if you wish to have your child attend a school that is not your home school, you need to get the Zone Transfer paperwork at the home school, complete and submit it. If you are a current student and your address has changed you will need to complete a Zone Transfer to stay if the school is not the home school. This paperwork can be picked up at the current school the child is attending. Zone transfers are granted only if space is available and must be submitted every year the child is attending a school other than their home school. Residency verification is done every year to show proof of where you live and determine your home school.
February 27, 2013, kindergarten registration opens for children who will be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2013. Parents of kindergartners may apply for a zone transfer at the time of registration. New Zone Transfers, this includes families who are now zoned to attend Camarena Elementary, will be available beginning February 27. Zone transfers will be accepted for all 5th grade students and their siblings who are currently attending Wolf Canyon. However, transportation will not be provided.
