You are cordially invited to our first, in-person, Back to School Night event in three years! And, we are beyond excited to welcome families on the evening of the 18th. Parents and guardians, this night is specially designed for you. Each class, or grade level (for those grade levels that rotate) will host two live sessions.
Session 1: 5:30-5:55
Passing Period: 5:55-6:00
Session 2: 6:00-6:25
The evening is a great opportunity for you to meet the teacher (if you didn’t get a chance during our back Wolf Canyon Meet and Greet on July 18th, learn more about the grade-level curriculum, and hear about the expectations we have for students.
Please make sure to be on the lookout for specific information from your child’s teacher in the days to come.

Thank you,
Wolf Canyon

Good Evening Wolf Canyon Families,
It was a joy to see our Wolf Canyon Timberwolves back at school today. We hit the ground running today, and are excited about everything the remainder of the year holds for us. We know that the parking lot drop-off can be hectic in the morning, and we genuinely appreciate your patience. Please remember that today was a bit more hectic than normal because of limited parking issues related to TK/K orientation, and families parking and walking their children to class. Tomorrow, we anticipate it to calm down a bit because more people will utilize the drop-off lane (the lane closest to the school buildings). While the traffic situation will continue to improve, we continue to strongly encourage you to walk to school (if possible).
Tomorrow’s Arrival:
Gates will be open at 8:20, and all of our 1st-6th grade families will be able to walk their students to the blacktop area (students were shown their lines today while at school). When there, students can walk laps, read at their lines, or sit at their line until picked up by the teacher at 8:45. TK and K please follow the directions you received this morning at orientation.
The tardy bell will ring at 8:45 and our students, teachers, and staff will be eager to begin class immediately at that time. For this reason, we ask that you make your way off campus after dropping off.
Arrival and Pick-Up Safety Reminders:
There are nearly 1000 students that attend Wolf Canyon, and our parking lot infrastructure was not designed to support that number. Because of this, it is even more important to remember the following guidelines.
IF YOU ARE DROPPING OFF STUDENTS PLEASE DO SO IN THE DRIVE-THRU LANE (CLOSEST TO THE BUILDING) AND PULL AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE BEFORE LETTING STUDENTS OUT. PLEASE DO NOT DROP STUDENTS OFF OUTSIDE THE 600 BUILDING AS THIS SLOWS TRAFFIC DOWN.
DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAUTIOUSLY
OBSERVE SIGNS AND CONES
THANK YOU FOR NOT TEXTING OR TALKING ON CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING
REMEMBER TO USE THE CROSSWALKS AT ALL TIMES
THANK YOU FOR NOT DOUBLE PARKING
THE PARKING LOT IS NOT A PICKUP AND DROP-OFF AREA
THANK YOU FOR NOT MOTIONING FOR YOUR CHILD TO WALK BETWEEN CARS
THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS OF THE SAFETY PATROL OFFICERS
THANK YOU FOR BEING RESPECTFUL AND POLITE
BIKES, SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS, HOVERBOARDS, ETC. MUST REMAIN LOCKED ON THE BIKE RACK OR KEPT IN A SAFE PLACE IN THE CLASSROOM TO BE DETERMINED BY THE TEACHER. STUDENTS MUST WALK THESE ITEMS ON CAMPUS DURING ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
We hope that you have a fantastic evening. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Respectfully,
Mr. Lange
Welcome back, Timberwolves!
This is just a friendly reminder that grades 1st through 6th are dismissed at 1:45 today!
Hello Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Families,
We can’t begin to express how excited we are that you, and your child/children, will be joining us for the 22-23 school year.
We are eagerly looking forward to seeing you on the first day of school which is July 20th.
We have been working tirelessly to ensure that the start of the school year is successful. Sometimes that comes with slight changes to the schedules and asks us to demonstrate flexibility. Just this morning, we received the final word and approval for our first week of the school schedule. Because time was running short, we sent out our initial communication with the weekly schedule in hopes of giving families a chance to plan. However, with the new information, we are making one slight adjustment.
July 20th: No changes to the previous schedule. Parents will attend school from 9-11:00 with their children and then take them home for the day. We will meet in the MPR for a presentation and then tour the school and classroom. Doors will open beginning at 8:20.
July 21st: The arrival process will remain unchanged. Students will enter the TK/K gate (located on the north side of the school near the 600 building) at about 8:35 and will immediately be greeted by the teachers. ***Dismissal is the only change! Thursday, July 21st will be a minimum day for all TK and K students. The school will dismiss at 1:30 for students. TK/K will dismiss from the K gate beginning at that time and hand students off directly to their parents/guardians. Unfortunately, if your child rides the bus, or attends DASH/YMCA we will not have these options available on this day.
July 22nd: No changes to the previous schedule sent out. Arrival will begin at the TK/K gate at 8:35 and students will be immediately greeted by their teacher. Dismissal will also be the same. For those new, to CVESD, every Friday is a minimum day and dismissal for TK/K students is at 1:30.
We apologize for the few changes that we have made and are thankful that we have a finalized schedule.
Thank you,
Casey and Mary Margaret
