Welcome Back to the 2020-2021 School Year!

Preparation for August 31st

As we prepare for the first day of school, please take some time to help your child designate a quiet space for Distance Learning. Also, please help your child test out their technology and login information prior to the first day school. Students will need a functioning camera, microphone, and audio. Headphones would also be helpful. All students at Wolf Canyon have an email account on Office 365. If you have any technical difficulties with a device you borrowed from the school or Office365 issues, you may contact the parent help line at (619) 409-6638.

  • Student Logins
    • TK – Gr. 1:

For the first week of school (August 31st – September 4th) students will only be participating in live instruction for the first 2 hours of the school day. Teachers will spend the afternoons in professional development and grade level collaboration.

School Lunch Application

It is very important to complete a lunch application each year. It helps our school receive funding and may result in your child receiving free or reduced lunch.

Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA)

Our VAPA teachers are very excited to begin classes with your students beginning the week of September 8th.

Art with Mrs. Adamos

For each art lesson, you will need a few basic supplies: crayons, markers, white plain paper, pencils, a glue stick, and scissors.  I also recommend a few other art supplies to enhance your art experience (but these are not required): permanent black marker, colored pencils, recycled magazines, and colored construction paper.

Music with Ms. Casimiro

For music, you will soon receive information about materials specific to your grade level. I will be in contact with your classroom teacher, who will send that information to you via e-mail.

It was AWESOME to see all of the students and families who were able to stop by the school over the past couple of days to pick up school supplies and instructional materials. A special thank you to the Bugarin and Agustin families for dropping off treats for staff to enjoy.

If you are in grades TK, K, 1, 2 or 3 and you were not able to come pick up your supplies and materials, don’t worry.

Please click the link below to view the dates, times and links for our 2020-21 Meet the Teacher Parent Meetings.

We are trying to respond to e-mails as fast as we can. Our phones have been down the last few days and therefore we are experiencing a large volume of e-mail communication. Teachers should be contacting you very soon to introduce themselves and invite you to their parent meeting. They also have access to student login information.

User Names:  Your child’s username is their unique StudentID# @live.cvesd.org . My example would be 12345@live.cvesd.org

Passwords, Transitional Kindergarten through First Grade: Lowercase first initial + lowercase second initial + student ID + equal sign(=) .  For example, my name is Mathew Shy so my password would be ms12345=

Passwords, Second through Sixth Grade: Capitalized first initial + lowercase second initial + birthday.  For example, my name is Mathew Shy and I was born June 22, 1976 then my password would be Ms06221976

If you are trying to login to Office 365 with your student’s credentials using the directions below, and you are not successful, please know that the District is having trouble loading all the Usernames and Passwords into the system. Several thousand are being loaded each day.

Please continue to try throughout the week and if you are not successful by Friday morning, please contact the Parent Helpline 619-409-6638.

2020-21 Teacher Assignments

Dear Wolf Canyon Families:

I’m sure you and your child/children are eager to start the 20-21 school year on August 31st. With the start of a new year, comes the anticipation of a new teacher.

On Monday, August 24th before 11:00AM, you will receive an email generated by our school messenger system providing you the name of your child’s teacher, Login information, and directions to access Microsoft Teams. This message will be sent to the e-mail address(es) we have in our school database.

In the event that you do not receive this message, please check your email inbox, including spam, clutter, and/or junk folders. Then, check that you haven’t blocked school emails. If you are unable to find the message, please contact the main office during the business hours of 7:30-4:00pm at 619-482-8877, so we can update your e-mail in our system.

New Families to Wolf Canyon:

As a reminder, we are an impacted school, which means we will most likely be completely full to start the school year. During the first two weeks of the school year, we will be establishing enrollment numbers based on the number of students who actually attend school. In the event that we have classes that are over the maximum number allowed, and if there is no other classroom space on our campus at your child’s grade level, your child will be “overflowed” to another school in our district until space becomes available at Wolf Canyon. The Student Placement Department at the district office will determine this placement based on space availability at nearby schools. If this occurs, transportation will be provided for your child when we return to in-person instruction.
